 CONFIDENCE & EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

     Believe it or not, emotions significantly impact performance on academic tests. Therefore we first address issues of confidence, anxiety, and perspective.

    With a new outlook on the test and some tools that help our students become  aware of and manage emotions that may interfere or  distract, our students are ready  for success!

 CONTENT

* Review of math concepts that are used on the tests, especially those that give students the greatest challenge.

*  Extensive vocabulary development and review of the most frequently used SAT & ACT words.

*  Practical grammar and language use review.

*  Reading comprehension techniques, especially for long passages.

*  Essay writing practice.

*  Reading and analyzing charts, tables and graphs for the ACT Science section.

 TEST STRATEGIES

 We look at the way the test is designed to determine the best strategies to apply.

 *  Guess or skip hard questions?

*  Work out the math problem or plug in the answer choices?

*  Read the questions or the passage first?

*  Write a lot or focus on accuracy?

We explain the best choices for these and practice many more strategies to help raise those test scores!

August 25-October 20                ACT  (9am – 12noon) & SAT  (1 – 4 pm)

September 22                              Free Refresher class for students who have previously 

taken our full SAT course (9a - 12n)

         ~~ Must sign up for the Refresher class by Sept. 14.  Send email to: info@nsoromma.org ~~

November 3 – January 19         SAT  (9am – 12:30pm)  

November 10 – February 2       ACT  (1 – 4 pm) 

December 15 – March 2            SAT  (9am – 12 noon)

February 2 – March 30               ACT  (1 – 4 pm)

June 10-24                                    SAT Test Prep PLUS!  Summer program (dates to be confirmed)

Late Registration:  $30 (Add this if registering within 2 weeks of start date)

NOTE:  Registration ends one week prior to the first class session!

A minimum of 10 registered students is necessary for a class to be held.   We reserve the right to cancel a class up to  5 days before the first session of a series if insufficient registrations are completed.

Returning Student Discount!

Discount for students who are returning to take the full course again.  (Something we recommend for everyone to do yearly!)

Tuition:  $219
